Skill Center Introduction
At a meeting of our International Executive Board, during the school year of 2017/2018, a decision was made to begin giving our students opportunities to learn various vocational skills. This is in accordance with our Mission Statement to help our children to become productive citizens of Malawi. The vote was unanimous. Therefore, classes have already started in three vocations - computer science, hair beautification and music. As God blesses Noah's Ark again by providing, we hope to add other vocations such as tailoring, art, health care assistance, carpentry, welding, and on and on.
The current plans are not to have any type of graduate or certificate classes, but just 'hands on' types of learning from qualified teachers for exposure and experience. It is our hope that in addition to our students doing well academically, which must come first, some may become inspired to also excel in a vocation of some kind.
These classes are named 'Skill Center Classes'. They are, and will continue to be, featured in their individual categories.
We have added, as an example, a short video of our Skill Center Tailoring Class.
